Giving Back to Our Community – Hannah

Posted in News 17 Nov 2016

Pink Hope’s Glimmer of Hope program aims to support the women and families within our at-risk community at a time when they are going through surgery, treatment or caring for a family member.

This Glimmer of Hope was made possible with the support of Eat Fit Food. To learn more about Eat Fit Food see their website, www.eatfitfood.com.au.

Hannah’s Story

Hannah

Hannah has a strong family history of breast and ovarian cancer from her fathers side and was confirmed to be a carrier of the BRCA 1 mutation several years ago. Being a worrier combined with being a person of action she made the decision to undergo a risk reducing bilateral mastectomy. Hannah booked her surgery six months ago to spend time focusing on pushing herself outside of her comfort zone and getting as fit and healthy as possible to assist in her recovery.

Hannah’s Glimmer of Hope
Hannah’s family will be travelling from New Zealand to support her during her early stages of recovery. With the support of Eat Fit Food Pink Hope is able to provide Hannah with a Glimmer of Hope consisting of Eat Fit Food fresh healthy meals to help her while she recovers from her surgery and she no longer has the assistance of her family. Having Eat Fit Food deliver healthy meals during her recovery will ensure she is eating nutritious foods.

A Message from Hannah
“I was blown away when I got the message from Pink Hope offering me Eat Fit Food for my recovery. Having a passion for health and fitness I have been concerned about eating healthy in recovery, particularly once my family goes back to New Zealand. Having balanced healthy meals delivered to my door will be such a blessing as I try to get back on my feet.”
