ACT Pink Hope Information and Support Day

The ACT Pink Hope Information and Support Day will provide expert speakers, including a Genetic Counsellor, Plastic Surgeon, Gynaecological Oncologist and Medical Oncologist, who will provide the latest information and research to give you insight, and to best support your decision making process.

There will be personal stories and time for socialising, which provides a great opportunity to meet and connect with other women and their families.

The event is fully catered including morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and drinks/refreshments.

Please note:

Pink Hope is able to offer travel grants and/or registration fee waivers to those who wouldn’t be able to attend the day due to financial reasons.

Please contact Sue Jones, Programs Manager, sue@pinkhope.org.au, for further information.

A very informative day with the added bonus of being able to connect with women in similar positions. It was great to feel part of a supportive and caring group. The information provided means I can make well informed decisions that are right for me and my family. – Robyn

FAQ’s

Is this event for me?

This event is particularly beneficial for women and their families who have a family history of breast/ovarian/prostate cancer, have had breast or ovarian cancer and deemed at-risk, have a known gene mutation or have undertaken or about to undertake genetic testing. If you have been told you are at-risk by a medical professional this could also be a suitable event for you, if it has been recommended that you undertake risk reducing measures and want to ensure you are across all the latest clinical guidance and information to assist in your decision making process.

Can I bring support people with me?

Of course! None of us navigate this journey alone and if you have support people in your corner who want to  support you – then bring them along.

Is it suitable for men?

Even though we are pink… we provide information for men that is relevant for them individually, as a support person or for their daughters at-risk.

Will there be time for socialising?

Even though this event has a huge amount of information we make sure we act as a conduit for connecting our community.
