We’re very excited to announce that across the month of February, Pink Hope will be undergoing a ‘Teal Takeover’ in honour of Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
Held every February and organised by our fantastic friends at Ovarian Cancer Australia, Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month aims to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer, share the stories of real women affected by the disease, highlight the risk factors for ovarian cancer and educate on ovarian cancer diagnosis and treatment.
“We’re delighted to be donating our platforms to teal in February, and partnering with Ovarian Cancer Australia for this incredibly important event. 2020 will forever go down in history as the year that tried to keep us all apart – so it’s more important now than ever before to stay connected, support each other and educate ourselves about our bodies and our health”
– Sarah Powell, CEO Pink Hope
“Cancer won’t wait for COVID-19 to be over. We know the number of presentations to our doctors and diagnoses of cancer have dramatically dropped recently. It’s our job to ensure people are educated and aware of the signs, symptoms and risk factors for ovarian cancer to prevent a COVID-19 hangover where we get a sudden surge of women facing a very challenging disease. Campaigns like Teal Takeover will help us reach more women and get the word out: It’s time for ovary-action”
– Jane Hill, CEO, Ovarian Cancer Australia
So, what can you expect from Teal Takeover?
This February Pink Hope will be turning Teal to shine a spotlight on ovarian cancer which, just like breast cancer, can devastate so many women and families. Throughout this month you will get the opportunity to hear directly from those affected by ovarian cancer in our Teal Takeover IGTV series every Thursday night in February. We’ll be sharing stories directly from the community, hearing from experts about the latest scientific research as well as connecting our very own, Sarah Powell with CEO of Ovarian Cancer Australia, Jane Hill. We will also be sharing essential facts and stats on ovarian cancer as well as an exciting Instagram giveaway to look out for!
So, get ready to turn it teal this February for Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month!
